INGREDIENTS
- 12 Jalapeños, medium size
- 6 Slices of bacon, not thick cut
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 tablespoons homemade Sazón seasoning (or use regular sazon, or your favorite season salt or BBQ rub)
- 1 tablespoons Very Muy Rico hot sauce
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat your smoker to 250°F.
- Prep the jalapeños by slicing in half and using a spoon to remove the seeds and innards.
- Prepare the cheese mixture in a medium sized bowl. Mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, seasoning, and hot sauce.
- Stuff the jalapeños using a spoon. Fill each jalapeno with equal amounts of the filling. Try not to over stuff these bad boys.
- Cut the bacon into pieces that are the same size as your jalapeños. Place a slice of bacon on top of each pepper.
- Sprinkle brown sugar on the top of everything!
- Time to smoke! Place the jalapeno poppers in the smoker.
- Smoke for 60-90 minutes at 250 degrees Fahrenheit or until bacon is cooked to the way you like it!
- Remove the smoked jalapeno poppers from the smoker and let cool for a few minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
NOTE: We made a few without bacon and they are vegetarian jalapeno poppers! My wife doesn't eat meat very often so this is the perfect dish to make for meat lovers and vegetarians living in the same house!
